This week's Book of the Week has just been short-listed for the 2020 Booker International Prize. The Discomfort of Evening by the Dutch writer Marieke Lucas Rijneveld (translated by Michele Hutchison) tells of the impact of a tragic accident on the the world-view of a ten-year-old growing up in a religious family on a rural dairy farm.
